About
I’m Daniel Vykoukal, a master’s student in Economic Research at CERGE-EI in Prague. I completed my bachelor’s in Economics at the University of Economics in Prague (VŠE) in 2025.
My interests sit at the intersection of macroeconomics, monetary policy, and applied econometrics — in particular time-series and Bayesian methods (VAR/BVAR), and the way macroeconomic shocks shape expectations and outcomes across heterogeneous agents.
What I’m working on
- Research Assistant to Stephanie Ettmeier at Charles University, on Distributional Effects of Macroeconomic Shocks on Expectations. My work involves large-scale data cleaning and exploratory analysis in Python, building reproducible workflows, and translating empirical results for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Coursework at CERGE-EI in Applied Macroeconomics, Applied Microeconomics, and Statistics.
Tools I work with
Python, R, MATLAB, EViews, LaTeX. Methods: OLS, time-series analysis, VAR/BVAR, panel data.
